Synergy Assessment enables educators to create formative, summative, and benchmark assessments with ease, aligned to standards and stored centrally for district-wide access. Students can take assessments within the StudentVUE portal using a computer or mobile device, or using paper-and-pencil. The interactive Results screen, accessed through the Assessment Dashboard, updates in real time as each student completes an assessment, so teachers can immediately adapt instruction to eliminate learning gaps.

Synergy Assessment fully supports all technology-enhanced items, so students can gain exposure to the same item types they will encounter on the latest computer-based state assessments, such as PARCC and Smarter Balanced. Technology-enhanced item types include constructed response, evidence-based selected-response (EBSR), graphic gap match, hot spot, hot text, inline choice, matching, multi-part, multiple choice, multiple select, number line, select point and text entry.
Create assessments that are aligned with standards, store them centrally for districtwide access, and schedule for future administration within the student portal. District-level summative assessments can be delivered to any student subset districtwide, with access restrictions to ensure that only administrators can view, schedule and change an assessment.
Students can take assessments interactively in the StudentVUE student portal. Teachers can turn assessment options on or off, such as randomization of question and answers, the time of day an assessment is able to be taken, and the ability to navigate back and forth through the assessment. For pencil and paper assessments, teachers can print bubble sheets and scan student responses by webcam for instant scoring.
Automatic assessment scoring provides immediate results to help teachers track student progress against standards and identify students who need additional help.
Teachers can provide formative feedback to students in the StudentVUE portal immediately after they have completed an assessment, while the assessment material is fresh in their minds. Assessment results also appear immediately in the ParentVUE / StudentVUE portals and mobile applications to keep families connected and up-to-date on student performance.
The Inspect Item Bank & Assessment Suite, available through our partnership with Key Data Systems, enables educators to get started right away administering assessments or creating new assessments from items written and vetted by experts. Inspect can be added to Synergy LMS and accessed from the assessment interface alongside other items and assessments for streamlined delivery. Data analysis in Synergy LMS includes results from Inspect assessments, and teachers receive specific feedback from Inspect so they can quickly adjust instruction to improve student learning.
