Q & A spin

ParentVUE and StudentVUE provide centralized access to student grades and assignments, communication with teachers, and more. Parents and guardians using ParentVUE need just one login to see information for all their students enrolled in a district. ParentVUE and StudentVUE are available as web portals and as mobile apps for Android, iPhone, and iPad.

The following capabilities are available in both ParentVUE and StudentVUE at the discretion of each school district:

  • Calendar: School holidays, events, and assignment due dates
  • Class Schedule: Course titles, rooms, and teachers
  • Class Websites: Classroom news and resources
  • Scores and Grades: Results display in real-time when recorded by teachers
  • Synergy Mail: Easy communication with teachers, office staff, and school administrators, including automatic language translation
  • Course Requests: Teacher course recommendations, course selections, and automatic verification of prerequisites
  • Administrative Records: Attendance, conference visits, health office visits and immunization records, transcripts, graduation status, discipline incidents, and more
  • In districts using Synergy MTSS:
    • Behavior Points: Display of points received
    • Reward Store: Redemption of points for prizes
  • In districts using Synergy LMS: 
    • Badges: Recognition for performance and achievement

Only in StudentVUE:

  • Assignment Uploads: Turn in work from Google Drive™ and Microsoft® OneDrive™ to Digital Dropbox or Google Classroom™ (in districts using that application)
  • Flex Periods: Mobile app sign-ups for optional flex periods and notifications for assigned flex periods
  • In districts using Synergy Assessment:
    • Tests: Online test taking 

Only in ParentVUE:

  • Absences: Submit planned student absences
  • Email Alerts: Opt-in for notifications about student performance, school events, discipline incidents, and/or attendance
  • Conferences: Reserve time slot for parent-teacher conference
  • Fees: Balance due and fee payment
  • In districts using Synergy Online Registration
    • Student Registration & Re-enrollment: Access to the student registration forms
    • Acknowledgements: Acknowledged documents are available for review at any time
  • Student Information Updates: Select student information updates, such as emergency contact and physician details
  • In districts using Synergy Lottery
    • Placement: Receive and accept placement offers
  • In districts using Synergy Athletics
    • Athletics Registration: Sign students up for athletics participation, provide consent, and upload related documents
  • In districts using Synergy MTSS 
    • Progress Reports: If applicable, See how your child is progressing through assigned interventions
  • In districts using Synergy Special Education (SE)
    • Special Education Information: If applicable, IEP goal progress, parent signature request, parent signature submission, and ad hoc communication

Option 1: Log in with a district-provided Google account

This option is typically for students who are provided a Google account by their district. Google accounts not issued by your district cannot be used to log in.

  • If you see a Login With Google button displayed when you open the StudentVUE portal or mobile app, click it.
  • You will be instantly redirected into to StudentVUE if you are logged into your Google account. If you are redirected to a Google screen instead, click Sign In and enter your district-assigned account credentials. When you submit the login form, you will be redirected into StudentVUE.

Option 2: Activate your ParentVUE or StudentVUE account in the web portal

  • Find the ParentVUE or StudentVUE web address for your school district. All ParentVUE and StudentVUE web portal users will need to enter the web address for their child’s school as part of the one-time activation process. Look for a link to the ParentVUE and StudentVUE portals on your child’s school website. The web address will be the same for the entire district, so if you have children at more than one school, you only need to find one URL and register one time. If you don’t see a link on the school website, it may be in an email you have received from your child’s school. If you have an email with a link or URL, contact the office at your child’s school.
  • Open the web address for your school district.
  • For a language other than English, select your preferred language at the bottom of the screen.
  • Select “I am a parent” or “I am a student.”
  • If you don’t see the “Activate Account” button, select “More Options.”

I have an activation key from my district

  • Select “Activate Account.”
  • Read the Privacy Statement and select “I Accept.”
  • Enter your First Name, Last Name, and activation key exactly as they appear in the activation letter.
  • Select “Continue.”
  • Enter your User Name.
  • Enter your Password.
  • Select “Complete Account Activation.”

I don’t have an activation key

  • Select “Request Account Activation.” If you don’t see this option, contact your child’s school to request account activation.
  • Enter your First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Phone Number, and a Date of Birth for any of your children attending school in the district.
  • Select “Request Activation.” An email will be sent to you at the email address you provided.
  • Check your email and click the “Return to Login” button in the email.
  • Read the Privacy Statement and select “I Accept”
  • Enter your desired Password
  • Confirm Password
  • Select “Complete Account Activation”

Activate your ParentVUE or StudentVUE account in the mobile app

You will need an activation code from your school district. If you have not received a letter with this information, contact your school office for assistance. Only one activation code is needed per user regardless of the number of students attending school in the district or which schools they attend.

  • Open the app.
  • Swipe left to locate your school district.
  • Select one of the following options for locating your school district:
    • Allow the app to access your location, then select your school district from the list provided.
    • Enter the zip code where your school district office is located, then select your school district from the list provided.
    • Manually enter the mobile URL. This URL can be found on the Account Access screen of the ParentVUE/StudentVUE web portal for your school district. Your child’s school may have sent the portal link by email or it may be posted on the school website. If needed, contact the school office for assistance.
  • You may see a prompt asking if you have an activation key. Select “Yes.” Otherwise, select “Have an activation key? Create my account.”
  • Enter your First Name, Last Name, and activation key exactly as they appear in the activation letter.
  • Select “Continue.”
  • Enter your User Name.
  • Enter your Password.
  • Confirm Password.
  • Enter your Email Address.
  • Select “Complete Account Activation.”

Visit the Account Information screen to change your password, update your email address, and view your login history. In ParentVUE, you can also change the display language, select the types and frequency of emails you want to receive, and view acknowledged documents. You may have other options at the discretion of your school district.

For a language other than English, select your preferred language at the bottom of the login screen.

  • On the web portal or mobile app login screen, select “Forgot Password.”
  • Enter the Email Address or User Name.
  • Select “Send Email” to have the password reset information emailed to you.
  • Once you locate the activation code in your email, return to this screen and select “I already have verification code.” The verification code expires after 15 minutes.
  • Enter your User Name (User ID) and Verification Code from the email.
  • Enter New Password.
  • Confirm New Password.
  • You will see a confirmation message when your password is successfully reset.

Support for ParentVUE and StudentVUE is provided through your school or district. Please inquire with your child’s school for assistance.
