Riverview School District (WA) Replaces Qmlativ with Synergy
District turns transition moment into opportunity for collaborative transformation
Edupoint® Educational Systems is pleased to announce that Riverview School District has selected and implemented Synergy® Student Information System (SIS) to replace Qmlativ student information system following a review of its long-term modernization strategy. The district serves 3,055 students across six schools in western Washington.
After a comprehensive evaluation of how well Riverview’s technological capabilities aligned with the district’s operational priorities, engagement goals, and long-term strategic direction, district leaders elected to transition to Synergy SIS. The decision enables the district to confidently manage student information, gradebooks, classrooms, and online registration today while positioning it to build out capabilities over time in a single data ecosystem that includes native special education, analytics, and teaching and learning solutions engineered to work together seamlessly.
“Through our technology review, we decided that if we were going to make a change, we should make the right change,” said Chris Collins, IT Director at Riverview School District. “Seeing how the system has been embraced—and the level of engagement with the StudentVUE and ParentVUE mobile apps—has validated that decision.”
That review sharpened the district’s focus around several operational priorities: streamlining online registration, improving attendance workflows, increasing student engagement through mobile access, and establishing a cleaner, more reliable data foundation to support daily operations and long-term planning.
District leaders also prioritized a flexible rollout approach, avoiding an unnecessarily long ramp-up before getting started with Synergy. The district launched Synergy SIS and TeacherVUE® Portal & Gradebook in August 2025. Online Registration followed later in the school year. Riverview plans to introduce additional Synergy modules in structured phases, breaking down major initiatives into manageable segments.
“We had never undertaken a transition like this before,” Collins added. “But when two organizations align, plan carefully, and commit to the work, you can accomplish more than you initially think possible. We had strong conversations throughout the process, and our teams genuinely enjoyed working together. That level of partnership makes a difference.”
“Riverview’s leadership approached this moment with clarity and purpose,” said Bob Weathers, Founder and CEO of Edupoint. “We’re proud to partner with districts that embrace change thoughtfully and build momentum step by step. Ultimately, that kind of commitment benefits students, families, and educators across the district.”
