Edupoint Enters Missouri with Lee’s Summit R-7 School District’s Selection of Synergy Special Education

Edupoint® Educational Systems, a leading student information and learning management solutions provider for the K-12 market, has been selected by Lee’s Summit R-7 School District (R-7) to implement Synergy® Special Education (SE).  Seeking to replace a legacy special education management solution that no longer met district needs, R-7 required a solution that would match the day-to-day needs of every stakeholder — administrators, case managers, evaluators, service providers, teachers, counselors, parents, and students — and improve the entire special education process.

Lee’s Summit R-7 School District, located in the southeast portion of the Kansas City metropolitan area, supports over 17,000 students across 27 campuses.  Recognized nationally for its quality educational programs and a commitment to success for all students, the R-7 issued an RFP for a technologically advanced solution that would meet district needs for special education and IEP management.  After speaking with neighboring districts and receiving extensive product demonstrations from top solution providers, the district selected Synergy SE based on the solution’s process automation, ease of extracting data out of the system, and ability to create and manage legally compliant versions of the IEP and all documents used in referral, evaluation, review and reevaluation for special education.

“We are pleased to welcome Lee’s Summit R-7 School District to the Edupoint family as our first district partner in Missouri,” says Rob Wilson, Edupoint’s President and Chief Innovation Officer.  “In this highly-regarded district, Synergy will provide transparency into the special education process and actively engage teachers, counselors, and families to positively affect student outcomes.  We look forward to building a valuable relationship with Lee’s Summit and to continued growth throughout the state.”

Synergy SE, available as a standalone solution or as a fully-integrated component of the Synergy Education Platform, simplifies the entire special education management process, guiding team members step-by-step from initial referral through program exit in a collaborative environment designed to promote student success. The solution provides district-level oversight to ensure that federal and state regulations are being met, and since Synergy SE uses the same centralized database shared seamlessly throughout the entire Synergy Education Platform, data is accurate and consistent in real time without integrating or synchronizing with other systems.

Lee’s Summit R-7 School District has begun the data conversation process and plans to go live with Synergy SE in time for the start of the 2016/17 academic school year.
